We would like to inform you about an important operational change concerning shipments destined for Germany.

Over the past few months, significant differences have developed between SPX and DHL Paket GmbH regarding commercial terms and the way services are billed, in particular the increasing number of surcharges and shipment-related corrections.

As a consequence, DHL Paket GmbH has suspended SPX’s ability to inject new shipments into its network. In the current situation, SPX has decided to stop routing new shipments through DHL and immediately switch the volume to an alternative operator.

Operational continuity has been secured.

As of today, shipments to Germany are being routed through the GLS Germany network.

This is not a solution prepared ad hoc. For several months, we have been testing, integrating and operationally preparing the cooperation model with GLS. We have already completed the operational arrangements concerning the process, cut-off times and direct injection of shipments into the German GLS network.

We have also launched dedicated SPX linehauls, including double-driver crews, allowing us to maintain the required transit times and cut-offs.

The transport model has been prepared with the requirements of marketplace customers in mind, where delivery performance has a direct impact on the KPI of seller accounts.

Our objective is to maintain the current transit-time standard and, once the process is fully stabilized, to improve it further.

Shipments that are already within the SPX network and have been labelled with DHL labels will be relabelled with GLS labels and redirected for further distribution.

For each such shipment, we will retain a full link between the original DHL tracking number and the new GLS tracking number. Where required, we will provide customers with a report containing both shipment numbers.

We understand that changing the last-mile operator may require updates to carrier settings, marketplace configurations or tracking-data transmission for some customer accounts. Our team will support customers with any required changes.

For years, SPX has built its services around a network of local last-mile operators combined with its own transport and system infrastructure. As market conditions, operational requirements and commercial terms change, the partners responsible for the final stage of delivery may also change.

The role of SPX is to orchestrate the entire process in such a way that a change in one element does not interrupt delivery continuity for our customers.

In Germany, GLS is now taking over the role of the last-mile operator. The SPX process itself remains unchanged: we collect shipments from our customers, consolidate them, operate the linehaul to Germany, inject them into the local courier network and manage the entire process through to final delivery.

We apologize for the very short notice of this change. We understand that changing the last-mile operator from one day to the next may also require quick action on your side. At the same time, we want to emphasize that operational continuity has been secured, and our team remains available to support any required adjustments.

The ability to flexibly manage operators and routing is one of the core elements of the SPX model.

Our priority remains the continuity of shipments, delivery quality and providing our customers with stable access to the European logistics network, regardless of which local operator is responsible for the final stage of delivery at a given time.
